A lot of good essential oils brands will test their oils in house, or have their oils tested by a verified third party for purity and quality standards.
As of yet, today there are no regulatory guidelines on essential oils for brands to adhere to and no set definition for claims like “Therapeutic Grade” or “Clinical Grade”.
It’s been known for some companies to add fillers, synthetics and unnatural constituents to their oils, which dilutes the the purity.

In an industry with few regulations, it’s nice to see these essential oil brands putting rigorous testing practices in place, simply because the discerning consumer has come to demand it.

What Grade of Essential Oil Do You Need?
If you plan to use the essential oil for your kids, the family, or your four-legged furry friend, it is better to purchase the 100% therapeutic oil. For alternative health uses, or use in a spa or salon, use 100% essential therapeutic oils. Therapeutic oils are distilled under more strict guidelines without solvents. Procuring from a reputable essential oil supplier will cost more, but it’s worth it in the end. You get what you pay for.
Essential Oil Grades and What They Mean
- Grade A—is a pure unadulterated oil that employs a rigorous distillation process
- Grade B—the natural food grade essential oil that is organic and certified with a small amount of trace chemicals
- Grade C—the perfume grade that is highly concentrated, and unaltered, but contains some chemicals and solvents
- Floral Water—These are water soluble fragrances also called Flower Water and are low quality essential oils synthetically made (not from nature) and are used for skin products
Avoiding Sub-Standard and Synthetic Oils
You may not realize, but a lot of essential oils are synthetic. This is because they are extremely convincing and can be passed off as expensive and genuine very easily.
Synthetic oils, as well as cheaper, sub-standard oils, may contain toxins. This means your essential oil, if synthetic or substandard, may be harmful to your skin and may not provide the aromatherapy benefits generally sought after for essential oils.
While it can be very hard to distinguish between a real essential oil and a sub-standard or synthetic one, there are signs that you need to look out for.
Type of Container/Name
Real oils will generally be sold in small containers, likely four oz. or smaller, with a dark colored tint to the container and an eye dropper. A real essential oil will also commonly include the Latin name of the desired plant on the container.
Generally, containers for real essential oils will include a label saying it is 100% pure oil, mentioning how it is wild-crafted and/or a USDA seal. Once you get a chance to open the container, if the cap is screwed on, it should be sealed with something called “orifice reducer.”
In addition to that, cheap plastic or rubber will not be used on real oils, as it can break down and affect the oil.
Price
As a general rule of thumb, it will be very rare to find real essential oils at a very low price. In other words, be wary of how much you are spending to make sure that you truly are getting a real product.
Smell
Sometimes, your natural intuition will be able to pick up on whether an oil is fake. However, there are very convincing fake ones as well.

Thank you for your input. You are correct. Many oils are purchased from farms that grow plants for extractable essential oils are from foreign agriculture. The U.S. grows mainly spearmint and peppermint, conifer tree oils and citrus.

No, and that is a GOOD thing. DoTERRA seeks out farmers growing plants whose chemical make-up is what they desire for full therapeutic benefits (those plants often grow natively in that area). In many cases the growers have been growing their crop for generations. These farmers are experts at what they do and doTERRA comes alongside them to support them, learn from them, improve where they can, pay them generously and change their lives all while getting us the best possibly essential oils. With this model doTERRA is obligated only to find the most therapeutic oils, wherever in the world that might be. Approximately 75% of doTERRA’s oils are sourced exclusively to them. This is fact and if others tell you other wise tell them to back up their claims with proof.

No they don’t. For the majority of their oils, they get the same oil that most other companies get. All the YL speak is just marketing. In fact, several of their oils have failed 3rd party testing because they had synthetic ingredients in them. YL is no better than any other company and in my opinion worse than a lot of them.
I know that ameo has the best quality of oils, they have been scientifically proven to be the best.
I don’t mean to sound dumb but which is the ameo? I am new to oils and trying to find some that are good but affordable. I have some YL but that’s bc I went to a party with friend. I wanted to read about these that you mentioned. Thanks

Majestic brand Lemongrass oil The most dangerous oil , it burned my cabinet destroyed my lighter and wooden cabinet. Very harsh oil and terrible customer service! The oil was diluted severely and yet all of this happened! Do not buy this if you value your wellbeing! It can course severe issues! Do not trust in this company!
Although the oil is diluted I think it is very dangerous, if it caused this damage to the protector of my cabinet, to the cabinet and to the hard plastic of the lighter what Can I expect from these products to do on my lungs or the skin?
The container was well closed however The rubber of the top they provided with the oil was burn too and the rest melted in the bottle ?.
I was really furious when I called this company to claim my money back and to understand a little more about why they sold such a dangerous product without the proper warnings labels and indicated information. I told them I would spread the information of what had happened to me more exactly with the lemongrass oil and a angry man said he did not care that I shared what happened to me with this product.

Has anyone had any experience with Ame’o essential oils? They are part of Zija International. They focus on the mind, body, soul connection and claim to take additional steps to make sure that each oil is cell active and permeable for maximum results and is the same or better quality than oils used in clinical testing. Just curious as to why they aren’t on your list. Maybe cause they are MLM, I’m pretty sure.
I think both YL and DT will stay around as long as they comply with the FDAs stipulations, which just includes staying compliant in their language. I know that DT is offering constant training and education on how their wellness advocates should talk and in what ways they can and cannot represent these products. I would say if YL doesnt have that same standard in place they might have a problem.

YL offers training by their advocates that use the oils. I have been to several sessions and never have I advised to replace any of my prescribed meds and use only essential oils. The sessions I have been to are always careful to tell what the FDA requires, not their personal opinions.
YL was in a lawsuit against doterra because the owners of doterra took info. when they left YL that they legally were NOT allowed to take. That is the only lawsuit going on. Actually it is over and only because YL took too long to put case in. All oil companies are not allowed to say certain things now due to new FDA rules and regulations but FDA tends to come down more on YL and Doterra because they are the 2 largest companies. I am with YL for the fact they own most of own farms, have seed to seal guarantee and sorry I would not trust a company whose main leaders took info that was not theirs legally to take, if they did that to someone they knew personally and worked with for years most likely would do things wrong to strangers and that is not who I will give my business to. Also article says YL is most expensive but you don’t need as much to do a better job so really cheaper than having to use more oil.

Actually that claim (stealing info) has yet to be proven. YL reps DO use fear tactics and incorrect info when speaking about other companies and their own products….I’ve witnessed this multiple times. I’ve sifted through FDA site re: EO’s….have you? I believe both YL & dōTERRA have good products but I do my own research.
I like both companies, but really have an issue with the fact that Gary Young has claimed that he cured his paralysis with EOs, which is clearly a load of hooey. So, pick your poison, I think. They are both smarmy companies, but their blends are divine. I hold my nose and buy what I need from them.
My husband and I have been using Zija products for several years. I love their Ame’o essential oils. After doing loads of research on oils and the large number of companies that supply them, Ame’o seems to be one among the top of the list for purity and actual results.
I, too, would like to know about Rocky Mountain Oils, I appreciated the article. It has been hard to find unbiased information and get some objectivity in comparing these companies.

In reading on Miracle oils I saw they use soy oil for some blends. Makes me wonder just what knowledge base they have in the dangers of soy.

I ordered from Miracle Essential Oils and was pleased with the product, the only thing I was not pleased about was that they charged my credit card for $35 each month. I wrote them because I could not find anything in writing when I ordered that they would do this. They did not care, nor would they refund the $35 charges to my card. I have gone back to the site and can find nothing about having to pay $35 per month to order products from them. Has this happened to anyone else?
In the order processing there was a step when it offered to double the single oil selected. In reading the entire box I saw that if I took this special offer it signed me up for the monthly fee membership of 35.00 unless canceled in advance. There was a no thanks/opt-out option. I didn’t take the offer. I will be watching my cc to make sure I am not billed monthly.
Yes, exactly as you describe it, but it was $39.95. I said I hadn’t authorised that, and please refund it, which they did. If they hadn’t, I would have had the Credit card company block payment to them.
I just watched 2 documentaries on cancer.This lead me to look for Frankincense oil. They said to put a drop on your tongue for treatment. I can’t find anywhere on your site if that is fine for anyone to do. I also looked at some of the sites to purchase. I like Eden. Rocky Mountain has large quantities only. Is putting this on your tongue OK?

In the reviewer there seemed to be less of a description of doTERRA so her us some more information. I.hope this will help. Due to the therapeutic pure distillation and testing process doTERRA is safe for internal usage. The Tawaiin government has recently changed a law about internal use due to the diligence of doTERRA. Please take the time to study doTERRA and it’s co impact sourcing. This is a company that is effecting the world and in a great way. They are safe due to their dilligent testing at a 3rd party facility, they also use amber bottles.They are truly pure, which means less is more and so they are less expensive and last a long time. Frankincense essential oil has not been documented anywhere to cure cancer. Frankincense the extract might be what you are looking for, helps with pain. I would not ingest any essential oil, but that is up to you. There have been many illnesses reported from people ingesting EOs. Just know that oils and water do not mix so use common sense and if you do ingest use with carrier oil to protect membranes.
You should never ingest EO’s directly into your mouth. Your stomach has hydrochloric acid, potassium chloride and sodium chloride to aid in digestion. One can only imagine how the chemical constituencies of some of these oils may interact with your stomach acid. If you place them in vegetable capsules, they won’t break down until they reach your intestines; however, the oils may upset the bacteria balance there. Not to mention that some oils that are considered “hot” may literally burn your mucous membranes. Essential Oils are designed to be absorbed into your blood stream. Hot oils should be applied with a carrier oil when placed on skin, other oils can be used directly on the bottoms of your feet. The oils reach your blood stream within minutes and are not broken down by stomach acids. Inhalation, diffusing, compresses, etc. are other good ways to receive the benefits of these oils.

You can ingest oils that say internal use on their bottles. DoTerra is great for that. My husband suffers from debilitating migraines, and we rub frankincense on the roof of his mouth and put a drop of Hellicrysium and Juniper Berry on base of back of skull/neck. Instead of being in bed with no lights or noise for 1-2 days, he now can get up and resume working within an hour. Being that we have 3 small (loud) children, this has been a miracle. ?
Hello, I have been ingesting certain EO for about a year, and have definitely noticed the appropriate benefits. The “reason” we are not to ingest, I believe, after extensive research on EO, I’m talking days and days worth of research, is the government. We could get into a long debate about how Big Pharma has taken over the medicine industry and that the government won’t allow us to state that EO really do help and cure, but we won’t 🙂 Ingesting EO is such a beneficial thing to do. I use a few different EO in general, but ingest only doterra. I had strep throat a few weeks ago, and ingested Oregano and Clover…my strep was gone in one day. And that’s just one time I’ve ingested the oils. I’m telling ya’ll, if you do it right, ingesting oils can be so beneficial!!

You can try turmeric or ginger or both in a combination with a carrier oil such as jojoba or coconut oil. Be careful with turmeric because it stains easily.

Dr. Joel Wallach has an enormous amount of misinformation in his presentation. He pretends to present his theories in a scientific way but any reasonably intelligent thinking person (who sits through his presentation) will be able to find that he isn’t credible. I just sat through a four hour presentation last month in Tulsa, Oklahoma. I could provide facts that would help others understand why this “doctor” isn’t credible but it would take literally hours to type out the facts. He did state many accurate facts; however, many other “facts” were outright lies. He can’t possibly be as naive/ignorant as his presentation would suggest (that is why I say they are outright lies). There is one area that I completely agree with him– that US medical doctors are not educated in naturopathy…and most do not have any knowledge or desire to do anything other than give us drugs to fix our aliments.
You didn’t mention Ameo Essential oils. These oils are proven clinical cert 5 grade oils. Each bottle has a batch number you can look up the test done just on that bottle. I absolutely am in love with these oils! If you haven’t heard of them check them out!

Hello, My Oil Company of choice is Mountain Rose Herbs. They are all Certified Organic and can’t imagine using anything but Organic. The fact that they do not have blends is a plus for me, not a Con. I want to know exactly what I am using, how it works, and what properties each oil has. I personally don’t want a company telling me “such and such” a blend is good for “this or that”. I like to be as informed as possible, then I make the blends myself. I find having a nice assortment of essential oils allows me to make many blends for different things….Or simply use them alone. I have used Young Living, Plant Therapy, and recently Bulk Apothecary. I really like Bulk Apothecary but would like to know if anyone else has used this company and their opinion. They have blends similar to YL and Doterra but with much better prices. They also had choices for the origin of some EO such as cedarwood.
I purchased from bulk apothecary. The bottles I recieved did not seem to be sealed correctly. The company told me that is how they are bottle. This concerns me on the quality and shelf life?

I have been buying NOW Foods essential oils from Amazon, and they seem to work wonders on my psoriasis patches. I have live in a rural area where multi-level marketing businesses are a near epidemic. Here, Young living and doTERRA basically have a rivalry that is almost as heated the Jets and the Greasers. In this Westside Story of essential oils both sides are always trying to get me to sign up and start selling. Both sides insist that NOW should not be used topically, and that I only think they work, and my experience would be better if I signed up with one of the Oil Mafias (Okay. I may be exaggerating a tad bit). Do you have any additional input on NOW? Do you have any input? And is it any less expensive to sign up with an essential oil company?

We do not keep up with what companies do or how they run their programs. Some companies do MLM (Multi-level Marketing). To me, that sounds like those pyramid schemes. You might want to go to the NOW website where you can contact them and ask.

Oil Mafias!! LMAO That’s one of the funniest things I’ve heard in a while and I agree. I live in NYC and Young Living and DoTerra definitely lead the market here. I currently use DoTerra and have no complaints (other than the price) but I’ve been looking into Healing Solutions to do some comparisons.

It seems like your comparisons are more like biased opinions. I see a lot of specific information about NAN oils but no pros or cons. Also, little is said about doTERRA’s farming methods, yet you go into detail about others. For a true comparison of oils, we need the same topics to be researched for each brand. Farming techniques, distillation techniques, testing procedures, etc.

I also have neuropathy in my feet. I have been using a mix of peppermint oil and eucalyptus mixed with a carrier oil ( I like olive oil because it absorbs quickly). I am amazed at the results!!
Deb, how many drops of. eucalyptus and peppermint do you use for your feet?
Be careful with eucalyptus oil because it can cause kidney damage, which is a real concern if you have neuropathy caused by diabetes. I’ve read that rosemary does too.
I’m new at using Essential Oils. I found barefut Essential Oils to be affordable because they offer good discounts sales often. Can you include them in your next report? Would love to know they are a reputable company etc..etc..It says on their website that:

I have a couple of problems with your article. First, it appeared to me that the information you provided was copied and pasted from their websites – correct me if am wrong. Second, you do not provide consistent information from company to company, it would be helpful if you chose a few categories and critique those aspects for each brand, which just increases my suspicion that the info was obtained straight from each one of their websites vs. your personal findings, and Third, the only two companies – which now have merged into one – Rocky Mountain and Native American, are the only two companies where you do not provide any pros and cons for, making your review visibly biased towards them, without being transparent in doing so.

Not everything is always consistent in articles. We do not use a template. What “categories” do you have in mind for “critiques”? In addition, what do you mean by “categories”;—types, kinds, brands? Our objective is to list the best-marketed oils. When people write about their favorite oil and we find it does well in the marketplace, we add it.
We are not biased towards any company. We have nothing to gain. We do not sell anything. We do not sell oils. I wanted to let people know about Rocky Mountain and Native American oils merging. That took research downtown so folks would be informed when they ask. Since that merge took place a few years ago, it was not easy to locate data. Would you like to do this job? Critique, research, type for hours, and then answer comments that are negative? If you would like pros and cons on the merged two companies, I can do that. However, I do not think that will satisfy you—I think you will come back with I am biased again.
The word “transparent” never occurred to me—never had a thought that I was not being crystal clear stating my point of view. It never crossed my mind to be vague; like: “I think I’ll be “opaque” about ABC and make XYZ sound “muddy” and “unclear” or that I will be “biased,” which to me means unfair. As for pros and cons for Native American and Rocky Mountain oils, that has not been done yet due to doing other things in life. Someone requested those companies so they were added recently. Pros and cons will be done; it simply slipped my mind while doing other tasks. Alex, to compile all the information takes months to do. It would have been positive to read from you: “It must have been an oversight that the pros and cons are not shown on Rocky Mountain and Native American oils. Sure would like to read those.”
By the way, I check my personal herb book for Latin names of plants so that oil novices can be better informed—time consuming, Alex.

My word! I say you can never satisfy all people no matter how pure your intention is. I can see from your article that you put quite a lot of thought and work into your review. But since there is a legion of these oils out there, obviously you can only do the most commonly used or popular ones. That’s logical. I read abut a less known brand called OVVIO and Italian company and Im doing more research on it but I think I might want to try some of the singles first. They are rather pricey though not MLM and sometimes pricey is good for me as it tells me perhaps their quality is worth exploring.
People the internet is one massive shopping place and also one gigantic library. Learn to appreciate those who start your tedious work of research for yah, but whatever is missing do that yourself. You will be surprised what a little less lazy and a little more busy can do.
Since you do not have your list in alphabetical order, it makes it seem biased to me. It also makes it more difficult to find and compare information. I just wrote it. He did the design and format on the website. We certainly are not biased. We do not sell anything; we simply give a cursory overview of some evaluations. Oils are added as we go. This is not an Excel spreadsheet that can alphabetize and be updated daily. One oil follows another in no particular order.
We recently added Rocky Mountain Oils and Native American Nutritionals. Due to an oversight, I did not complete the Pros and Cons and was accused of being biased for not doing so. I was busy adding something someone wanted—in no particular order and at the end. The pros and cons are at RMO and NAN now.

I’m new here. I have no knowledge of EOs, but received an introductory gift of EOs last night. I won’t mention brand because I don’t need people telling me how good or bad it is. It was a gift. And I appreciate it. I also appreciate you taking the time to list info about different brands. It is sad that some people just seem to live to complain.
I think Sherrie and others assumed since there was a number by each company that you were ranking them. Any rank whatsoever is pretty futile as many things can only be scored subjectively. The rest of us realize that you were just putting a list together in a non-ordinal ranking format. Thank you for putting this resource together. I never realized how many companies have jumped into the business.
Let me give a real lesson on bias, please indulge with me. I learned about what real bias is. An example would be a magazine like “Motor Trends”. Their editors can go on and on about a great car and render their expert opinion why you should buy it. Seems like no conflict of interest could ever exist there, right? Yet, the reality is, if you get enough advertising funding from the manufacturer, you can make the Car of the Year in 1984 a “Renault Alliance”. See what I mean? The same kind of group of judges gave the Grammy to the “Starland Vocal Band” (Skyrockets in flight”), the runner up, however, for best vocal rock group in 1976 was “Boston”. So people, don’t get ridiculous, Melissa is just providing you a little condensed version of companies providing essential oils–just get over it?

I just wanted to give my opinion concerning Rocky Mountain oils. I’m new to EOs and did a lot of reading before deciding who to purchase from. I’ve gotten just about all of my oils from Rocky Mountain. Some have had the NAN label on them and that’s fine with me as I understand about the merger. They have been super helpful and supportive. Their prices are fair and they often have sales and special promotions. In no way would I buy from a mlm company. I just don’t feel their interests lie in my well being, but more in the almighty dollar. Another company that I deal with is Pompeii Organics. Their range of oils is not as extensive, but they carry other items that I find useful and beneficial for my skin care products. They are also super helpful and supportive.
I know I’m late in the discussion since I’ve just recently renewed my interest in EO’s. I agree: how can not aphabetizing a list make it seem biased? Maybe if the commenter would actually look up the definition of bias, they would understand.

I’ve had great success with myself and others with Essential Oil Exchange products. They are the only one that I could find that offered Certificates of Analysis of each batch of oil prior to purchasing. What do you think?

I have read a lot, researched a little, and there is so much info out there. I appreciated your list…and did not take it to be “complete”. It also does not bother me that it was not alphabetical. Just my two cents worth. Your review of EO brands and the time you spent researching is awesome and accurate. I felt like it was your honest “unbiased” report of information you collected on each brand. I can’t imagine the time you spent doing that, because just reading this and some of the comments took a big chunk of my time. I believe if someone wants more information about the company that provides a specific brand should do their own research about that company. You’ve done a fine job researching the quality of the products….which is really what we need to know…right?!!! Product quality is the most important…the retailer is more a personal preference kind of thing. Just saying 🙂 Keep calm and oil on!

Great website! My fiancee recently went to a Young Living event and she fell in love with essential oils. I wanted to get her a starter kit for the holidays, but the prices are way too high! It looks like Fabulous Frannie and Edens Gardens have reasonable prices. I am looking for the highest quality (and safest!) oils at a reasonable price. Do you have a favorite, or a preference (Frannie, Edens, or another one)? Also, do you recommend any particular starter kit (price point of around 30 – 50 dollars)? Thank you so much for the information! I am just getting into Oils and have been searching around. My sister sells DoTerra so that was my second oil to use. She swear by DoTerra and that everything else is of a much lower grade..hhhmmmm I’m not so sure. I should add my first oil was the NOW brand and I love the Lavendar I think it worked well for me for anxiety. My third oil (which I have had for a couple week now) is Plant Guru. I bought their 5ml 14 box set. This brand is not on your list. Is this a comparable oil? I believe they are a small company and also have a limited selection. I am looking for a higher grade oil with an affordable price.What do you know about Plant Guru? They do list a compare to several other oils including DoTerra and Young Living and several more. Can you help me please?

I use doterra and aura cacia brands. Aura cacia is a little more affordable for me, and I can go to the health food store and get them. I’ve had good results. I like Doterra’s quality, but the price is sometimes a little out of my reach. Is there a way to confirm if aura cacia is on par with Doterra? Another brand you forgot to mention is Butterfly Express. I haven’t ordered from them yet, but they have a lot of oils, oil blends, and they have different sized bottles up to 4 ounces.

thank you for this. it seems overwhelming now to get on with oils. companies are popping up everywhere it seems. i used oils several years ago for a medical condition and never knew it was a pop culture thing. so now it seems some price are completely outrageous but i dont want to buy something that isnt a good quality. a couple of these companies seem to be really good at branding and their prices and following reflect that. so thank you for giving a snapshot to start with. saw a lot of negative comments. i am just grateful you took the time to put a lot if information in one small place. thank you again.

I was checking out Aura Cacia website browsing the different oils. When I look at the details of an oil it shows “Common Adulterants” Does this mean that Aura Cacia oils are adulterated? Also are all this company’s reviewed unadulterated oils? New at essential oils help.

Aura Cacia® oil users love the products they make. The essential oils reviewed on our site are pure 100% therapeutic oils. In good conscience to the essential oil’s community and to ourselves, we would not publish altered oils.

Thank you for your two warm notes on December 6. It is important to take the time to communicate with everyone who writes to us. Those who whine and complain can make one laugh a bit. Yes, there are distinctions between oils that are “fragrant” and “therapeutic.” Not only is cinnamon good as a pest repellent, (insects), but so are citronella oil made from citronella grass from Southern Asia. It smells like lemons but yukky and strong to bugs, especially the pesky and disease-ridden mosquitos. Other great oils for bugs are bergamot, lavender, peppermint, eucalyptus, lemongrass and cedarwood, plus more. Write again on your journey with essential oils and may the bugs stay away!
Ethical and kind treatment of animals is a must! They are the creator’s lovely creatures and many are our friends who would die for us. We also must treat one another with kindness—we are all one. Moreover, we should all strive to the Sensei philosophy. Thank you.

Hi there! I use and LOVE Plant Therapy. I use a few others as well but PT is my favorite. I did catch one thing mentioned about Plant Therapy that was incorrect which was that you have to buy in bulk ((From the article: “You need to buy in large quantities and negotiate the best prices.” )) You most definitely don’t have to buy in bulk nor do you have to negotiate the best price. Their prices are actually awesome whether you buy 1 or 100 =) Not sure if that was just a typo or a misunderstanding.

I ordered the stater kit of KIS oils through Amazon, because their website is STILL not set up to process orders. I figure this would be a con to update about KIS. It’s a shame…I really like the oils I was able to get. I just wish they would fix the ordering issue on their site. Not too sure what the problem is. It appears to have been like that since summer 2014, according to the posts on their Facebook page. Thanks for the recommendation though!

Was not fond of the Radha Oils. I found I needed to use a lot to smell them a little. I also have YL which I love but find a little expensive.
As a long time (18 year) owner of a large retail natural foods store I can tell you that:
There is no such thing as “Theraputic Grade”. This designation and even logo and symbols were made up by multilevel marketing companies to try to make their products seem better than those you can buy retail and to justify the much higher price. The higher price is simply because all the people in the pyramid have to get their little cut.
Most multilevel companies don’t start out that way, they start out by trying to get their products into retail stores directly or to have a large distributor pick up their products to then sell to retail. I see countless companies attempting this at every trade show I attend. When these companies are not picked up to sell retail (because the product isn’t high enough quality, too expensive, not unique, or even actually “snake oil”) these companies either give up and take their losses or usually start into pyramid marketing where all you need is a good spiel and gullible customers.
My suggestion? Forget the multilevel brands and stick with a company who has been in business for decades, sells their products in an above board fashion with uninflated prices.

You should also include Spark Naturals. They are similar to dōTERRA and Young Living but differ that they are not a MLM so their oils are more reasonably priced. That’s what dōTERRA and Young Living have such high prices, it’s to pay their “independent wellness associates”

Affiliates generate traffic and sales for commercial websites and in return receive a commission payment. Isn’t that similar to MLM? You can view this at the blue “Affiliate Program” at the bottom of their website.
