Some of the Comments we Received About What People find Important in an Essential Oil

I prefer to use oils that are 100% natural with no additives or fillers! I also prefer to use a company that is involved with each step of making their oil like Young Living “from seed to seal” they grow their own seeds, tend to their ow. Farms, harvest the plants and distill them!

Purity is very important because I use these oils on my family including my grandchildren and other loved ones. Price is important because I provide these oil remedies to many people at no cost. Packaging the oils in amber or blue bottles is important to protect the integrity of the oils.

Certificate of analysis, with distill date, expiration date, country of origin, and entire data on oils reassure me that I am getting the quality I want at a reasonable price without a third party dilution or markup.

I’d like to know where the oils I’m using on my family come from and that they don’t contain unnatural chemicals. Since I just started using oils a few months ago, I’d like to have the person/company selling my oils to be able to educate me in how to use and the best ways to use the oils.

Single most important criteria to me is USDA certified organic. Government regulations provide substantially more assurance to me than the seller’s claims, such as therapeutic grade or other marketing hype which I have no reasonable way to verify.

It is important to me not to put any unnecessary harmful chemicals in my family’s bodies. I also want pure oils without them being cut with other carrier oils.

I want to make sure I am getting the purest oils I can and that they are good for me and my family. I want to know the testing and where they come from so I can educate my self. Affordable prices are helpful but I want quality.

Price is the most important factor along with the oils being pure and of the highest standard if I am going to put it on my body or ingest it. I prefer the oils be toxin free.

It’s very important to know that you are getting a quality oil since there is no real regulation on these. As a new user education is important to me as I want to use the oils in the best way possible. Affordability is important because I want to be able to mix and match oils to what they are needed for so I want to build a large collection that I can repeat without breaking the bank.

I need to know that the brand I purchase has all the natural qualities of the oils and that it is a natural oil that will provide results. I am a low income person and need a price that I can afford. Also, I need to know the business I am purchasing from is reputable because I don’t have the money throw away, I can barely pay rent, electric, phone, and food for a month.

I only buy essential oils in amber colored bottles and since 100% pure oils can be expensive I tend to look for something that is still 100% pure but perhaps on sale somewhat cheaper.

I am a new user of essential oils and pure reliable oils with a chance for education on their origins and therapeutic uses would be wonderful.

I have various brands: Young Living (cousin recommended) and they truly seem to have the best reputation although the cost is a bit too much for my budget. Vitacost brand is inexpensive and the quality is okay I mostly just use the diffuser for a nice scent in the house—don’t really use them topically.

I use several. I started out with Young Living oils but the prices are too expensive and you can find just as a good quality in other brands. I shop at Natures Gift, Original Swiss, Rocky Mountain Oils, Eden Gardens are several I shop from now.

I have been using NOW oils. My oil of choice would be Rocky Mountain Oils but that is out of my price range so I have gone with NOW instead. I either buy them at a local health food store or on Amazon.

I mostly use Anatolian Treasures that I started using in the early 2000s. I found the essential oil company through an aromatherapy board with Butch Owens. I’ve also used Nature’s Gift and have been happy with both companies. I’d consider using other companies as well.

dōterra. Anyone that I know using essential oils, all use dōterra. I also like that they are 100% natural, and you know this because they can be ingested. Some other brands state that they are but are not suitable for ingesting.

I am newer to essential oils and have a hard time choosing quality brands. I have found I like Plant Life, have many Natures Truth but am unsure of the quality with these and have many organic oils from our local co-op which I don’t see anywhere outside of this store. That brand is Veriditas and they do give a good amount of info. I do not like to buy online until I am certain I am going to receive genuine, quality products.

I use dōTERRA. As it is the only brand of essential oils I have used, I can only compare it to the Aura Cacia brand (which I purchased before finding dōTERRA). The only way I used the Aura Cacia was in the diffuser and I couldn’t smell the orange scent at all, unlike the dōTERRA brand. I use the dōTERRA brand mostly because of the way they source their product.

Rocky Mountain Oils. I read many reviews and searched for the purest oils. I liked that they label each bottle with their batch number and you can track all their GC/MS reports.

I use Young Living because they do everything in their process, Seed to Seal! They plant, maintain, harvest, distill and bottle their oils! There are no additives in their oils and they are 100% natural! I did a huge amount of research prior to deciding to go with Young Living! A lot of other companies put additives and other harmful ingredients in their oils! Also, no oils will ever smell exactly the same when they are pure!

I started using dōTERRA. did that for several months. I started doing my own research. I tried a few, nothing was comparing to dōTERRA. I can’t afford dōTERRA; very expensive prices. I finally found Eden’s Gatden. I’m happy, satisfied, thankful I found a company who has everything I’m looking for in an oil. The prices are affordable. They are the very best quality in my opinion. So impressed. I love my oils!

Eden Gardens – I found it through an extensive google search and ordered trial/sample sizes to test the quality. I haven’t been disappointed as of yet.

I’m using some vitamin shoppe brand aromatherapy blend from the vitamin shoppe store. I bought it without knowing anything about essential oils and have only just recently learned a little more about essential oils.

I started out with a beginner set from Young Living. I then added to my collection using Eden Gardens. I have some oils from Mountain Rose, dōTERRA, Miracle Oils, Plant Therapy and NOW Essential Oils.

As a youngster, I have vivid memories of walking through the large fantastic garden my dad kept for his entire life. It was there I learned about all the plants and the varied, important properties they can offer humanity. A cool morning misty walk down the meandering paths was a child’s delight, and something I still do to this day in my own sprawling gardens. While I have stepped back from the day-to-day managing of Wellness Appliances, I intend to continue contributing articles on subjects that matter to me from time to time. My days are largely filled volunteering at the local co-op, tooling in my vegetable and fragrance gardens (which I attempt to keep as a year-round gardens), writing, and being the leader of the pack to my two dogs Jacko and Lea. Thanks for the years of great readership! - Melissa

I’ve been doing a lot of research and and reading will be switching to Rocky Mountain Oils. Many of the practices of some of the more popular companies have been proven to be less than ideal and their claims of purity false. A little research has gone a long way this time around. Mountain Rose Herbs is another great option but not as accessible for me.

      Hi Diann,

It is always a good idea to research on your own to find what company and what oils work best for you. Mountain Rose Herbs® has been around since 1987. You can read more about them here.

Hope all works out for you,

      Melissa
