Edens Garden – The Journey

Edens Garden has been considered a top essential oils provider in the marketplace since 2009.

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and company founder, Ms. Grace Martin, started the company in the early 2000s while traveling through New Zealand.

During Grace’s early years with the new company, she researched ways for using and improving essential oils for her natural treatment products. When she first started out, essential oils were relatively new to the public consciousness, and there was a big lack of understanding around essential oils products in general. After a few years of successes and failures, she established the methods for producing the quality product Edens Garden puts out today. She named Edens Garden essential oils for the ultimate utopia, the garden of Eden.

Edens Garden – The Quality

Edens Garden 100% pure therapeutic grade essential oils proudly offer the highest quality of essential oils and highest grade of oils for your consideration. They thoroughly test and meet the standards you, the consumers, have come to rely on. All of their oils are considered 100% pure and of therapeutic grade. No pesticides, herbicides, harmful chemicals, Genetically Modified Organism (GMO), or chemical fertilizers are used during the plant’s growth cycle.

Edens Garden pure therapeutic grade essential oils

Edens Garden adheres to USDA food product and safety guidelines to ensure their essential oils are pure and organically produced. Their products are certified organic essential oils.

When Compared To Others…

Compared to others, we believe Edens Garden generally has a superior product at a lower price than other well-known brands such as Young Living, dōTERRA or Aura Cacia.

Edens Garden confidently promotes their oils as, “Certified Pure Therapeutic Grade”, meaning each of their oils are in the upper levels of purity. Some of the plants are native to the United States and sourced locally, but other plants must be imported to make the essential oils. In both cases, the sourcing is transparent and the plants are generally of the highest quality.

Edens Garden keeps their prices low by selling directly to their customers rather than following a multi-level marketing plan. Multi-level marketing companies like Young Living and doTERRA essential oils must work their commissions into the price, which accounts for the striking difference in cost. Plant Therapy is another reputable oil company but lacks the offering of Edens Garden essential oils.

Trust and Safety

Edens Garden essential oils collection

All Edens Garden essential oils are tested by third-party laboratories using Gas Chromatography and Mass Spectrometry (GC MS) testing. Gas Chromatography is a method of separating the volatile compounds in essential oils into individual components. The Mass Chromatography (MS) is a computer that produces a linear graph that charts individual components.

This independent check on quality ensures each oil produced hits certain standards in purity and ensures health and safety are never a concern for consumers.

Benefits of Edens Garden Essential Oils

  • Edens Garden essential oils are certified organic. Each bottle comes with the USDA Organic Stamp, and are 100% therapeutic grade.
  • Compared to other essential oil brands, especially multi-level marketing companies like doTerra essential oils, Edens Garden oils are less expensive.
  • If you are not satisfied with your product you can return it for a full refund within 30 days by calling customer service at their toll-free number.

A few months ago, July 22, 2015, I ordered 2 bottles of the Age Defy 10 ml essential oil and 2 bottles of the Evening Primrose …. I have used this since my order came in and I cannot tell any difference in my face at all…I am so disappointed … also your scent ball plug-in wall diffuser was a complete waste of money and I am also disappointed in it too.
I get all my oils from your company…. a friend and I order together to save on shipping charges….I love Edens Garden oils and do not plan to stop using them, but I just needed to tell you about my disappointment with the above.
PS the reason I ordered more than one bottle of Age Defy and Evening Primrose is to get my daughter started on using diffuser and oils …. her gift for Christmas!

    1. David

For the disappointment with the products mentioned above, did you ever personally contact Eden’s Garden via email? They are always so helpful when it comes to customer service.

      1. Melissa

Thanks to both of you for your comments,

        Regards,
        Melissa

I like to know can u take the oils internly as well as topily? Use them on ur foods?

      1. diana

this was not answered can you tell me why can you take the oils by mouth yes or no??????????

        1. marjie

I need to know the answer to this because my kids got into my oils and we’re eating the peppermint.

          1. Bobbie

You should never take essential oils internally, any qualified aromatherapist will tell you this unlike the people giving out false information from MLM companies.

  2. David

I am a regular customer and thoroughly enjoy the products. All purchases that total over $50 receive FREE shipping!
For the disappointment with the products mentioned above, did you ever personally contact Eden’s Garden via email? They are always so helpful when it comes to customer service.

    1. marie

Eden’s Garden is very good will handling any issues you have. I ordered an oil once and was sent the wrong one, they made it right immediately. They are amazing in customer service and making their customers happy. I would contact them and tell them that you feel that this item did not help you as expected.

  3. Vivian Emert

I had an experience receiving a broken bottle of peppermint oil. Edens Garden requested photo. Then promptly replaced the oil. I also used a couple of bottles of age defy and I honestly couldn’t see any difference, I assumed I waited too many years to defy it! I would have kept using it but the price has tripled so I am probably not going to get more. But I love almost of their oils and am happy with the company.

  4. Eva

I just started using essential oils and didn’t want to buy the ones with the MLM’s attached to it, but wanted something that was good quality in the same time. I came across Edens Garden during my search and have ordered quite a bit of oils from them already and I love them so far. I am happy to see this review confirming that their oils are indeed good quality. Their customer service is top notch, as I asked them for one thing and got it right away. I highly recommend them now to my friends, too.

  5. Melissa

    David, Marie, Vivian, and Eva,

It’s always great to receive good feedback about essential oil companies. Grace at Edens Garden™ will love it!

How do you get free samples?? I just put in my first order a couple days ago and paid for express shipping…I went to a doTerra class and loved it but it just was not in my budget. I loved some of the scents but did not like a few..I wish I would have written them down. Wondering what to order next and I am getting my daughter’s and mom hooked as well!! Would love to find out of to get samples!!

    1. Melissa

      Hi Lisa,

I do not know of free samples by any company. You might try writing in your browser, “free samples essential oils” without the quote marks. Hope it works for you.

      Best regards,
      Melissa

      1. Avie

It says in your article that they offer free samples. In the bullet points under “benefits of Edens Garden.

    2. Emily True

      Hi Lisa,
Honestly Herbal is known for their customer service, I know they would be happy to provide you with samples. They’re awesome because they don’t require a membership, and they offer a stunning return policy. Send an email to support@honestlyherbal.com and ask for a sample of one or two of their oils. They are super personable, I’m sure they’ll be willing to talk samples.

  7. Uptown Grange

I too wanted to start using essential oils and did not want to use one of the MLM companies. I have been extremely happy with Edens Gardens. I always order or $50 so I can get the free shipping. The MLM’s are definitely not in my budget and I am so glad that Edens Garden has made essential oils reasonably priced. I’ve always been please with each and every oil I’ve received from them.

    1. Melissa

      Hi Uptown Grange,

Eden Gardens™ Essential Oils are great. Free shipping is even greater! The prices are good and so are the oils.

      Best regards,
      Melissa

  8. Anthony

I recently purchased three large bottles of oil from Edens Gardens. I received the box in a bag from the post office. One of the more corrosive oil bottles had shattered and the box looked like it had been sitting out in the rain but of course with a pleasant smell. I opened the box and the Tea Tree oil bottle had broken and oil was everywhere. These oils were intended as Christmas presents so it kinda sucked that the other two oils were coated in another oil. Nothing wrong with the other oils except for the fact that they are not really presentable as Christmas gifts. The boxes were warped and looked old and the labels on the other oils were blistered from the Tea Tree Oil. I talked to Edens Gardens and they were will in to replace the Tea Tree oil. I requested that they send return postage so that i could return the others so that they could resend me the oils in presentable containers. They said they would put this in the box that they were sending but they never sent anything. I got a hold of them again and found out they had forgotten to send it. Now i have very few days prior to Christmas with no chance of getting the bottles with damaged labels prior to Christmas. I wouldn’t have had a problem with this if they weren’t gifts. Not sure what can be done, just annoyed that this stuff happens. Also a bit annoyed that they didn’t offer to discount the damaged bottles at a minimum.

    1. Melissa

      Hi Anthony,

Eden Gardens™ Essential Oils staff was probably preoccupied at Christmas time. I had problems with the same situation locally. I know it was a disappointment to you being a gift. I’m sure it was an oversight and they did make it right. Their regular staff might have been on Christmas vacation and a temp did not know how to package the glass bottles properly. You might write them a note about the discounting now that the holidays are over. I’m sure they will be fair with you when you let them know you missed the oils to be given as a Christmas gift. It sounds like a smell-good mess that you received. I hope you sent the entire package box inside another box back to them. Let us know.

      Best regards,
      Melissa

  9. Martha

I love Edens Garden and allways excited to place my next order. Have not had any issues. Infact i forgot to add two oils to my order I emailed them and got a quick responce. My first order was getting ready to ship therefor the two oils had to be seperatlely from my other order. They Emailed me a link to order them with free shipping since my original order was over $50. I have used my oils in my diffuser, put in my homemade laundry detergent, in my homemade face wipes, and much more. And they are wonderful. My packeges have been very presentable in very cute boxes. So happy i found them and love how affortable they are. May I add that I love their web site!!!! So easy to navigate and they give you information on every oil. From their origin to how to use it to reviews. Love, love , love!!!

    1. Melissa

      Hi Martha,

Thanks for loving Edens Garden™ Essential Oils. I’m sure they love that you love their products!

      Best regards,
      Melissa

  10. Tina

I decided to read through all of the comments and information on all the products listed. Thank you for all the great information on the different companies. I now understand that Young living is the only oil company that manufactures from seed to seal and the other manufacturers get their plants and oils from other countries and do not grow their own. Thank you for this information because I could definitely see and smell the difference in the oils. I smell the difference. I used Young Living oils for years however, who doesn’t want to save money. I purchased a few oils from the different companies and didn’t enjoy the fragrance. I guess if all of you want to know why some oils may cost more from one manufacturer to another, you can definitely tell by the smell. I guess you get what you pay for so I will stay with Young Living since it is all made and controlled by the owners. Their standards seem to be the highest and they have all the quality control at their finger tips. Thank you…….

    1. Xanthia

I agree with you Tina. I started off using brands: Saje, Now, and Aura Cacia then discovered Young Living through a friend who had joined them. I myself have joined Young Living and 100% support their quality and products. However, I need mandarin essential oil and can’t find it on the Canadian or American website at this time so I am researching other brands. I just want to diffuse the mandarin so I will be purchasing through Edens Garden or Floracopeia ! I noticed Floracopeia has ‘rare’ oils. I will get most of my oils from Young Living and my products still as they are an amazing company!

      1. Melissa

        Hi Xanthia,
Thanks for your comments and happy that you visited here. The proof is always in the pudding, as the saying goes.

        Best regards,
        Melissa

    2. Sucorra

Seed to seal doesn’t always offer the best results – particularly when the plant is not in its native region. That is actually a reason I prefer Eden’s over others – because most – if not all of their oils are indigenous to the region. DoTerra’s oils are also indigenous

  11. Melissa

    Hi Tina,

Thanks for your astute comment and for visiting our site.

    Best regards,
    Melissa

  12. Jenice

So it’s been a long time since I had a bad review to give, but I am so upset I feel the need to voice this. I ordered a custom set of essential oils from Edens garden oils. I got them in the mail and was surprised to see one oil that was not what I ordered. It was called energy boost ,if you look in my oils all of them are a relaxing oil and then there’s just one random energy boost thrown in there. What I had ordered was there thieves blend and have no idea how the energy boost was put into the order. When I was emailed back I was told they were willing to send me the right oil and asked if I could send them a photo of the oils that I had received this is the photo I sent them. I then received an email stating that the order was correct. I I explained to them that in fact it was not correct I had never chosen that oil and would never because I suffer from anxiety disorder. I stay away from any stimulating OILS like that. The lady politely argued with me about how I “did” order this oil! See the funny thing she doesn’t realize is that it took me forever to find the thieves oil because it is named something else on their site so I read through each oil until I found it making sure to select it. I even read down the list before I hit it to go to my cart. It was so aggravating that she basically was telling me that I was lieing to her. She told me i could return the oil but the fact is its would cost more to send the oil back the to just order the thieves oil and just have it shipped. I would have been happy to purchase the thieves oil if she would have been polite! But instead she sounded accusing and politely rude. To tell you the honest truth but oils aren’t even all that great there not blended well but I was willing to give them a try! Now with the way I was treated,I guess this company doesn’t believe the customer is always right or even the customer could be right. I personally wouldn’t risk doing business with this company just in case you ever have a problem. I don’t feel that they would be willing to help you without being rude. I will keep buying Piping rock oils

    1. Melissa

      Hi Jenice,

I’m so sorry for your “rude” experience. I hate it when these things happen. People do make mistakes and this company is very good about fixing problems. Grace at Edens Garden™ is easy to work with and you might want to contact her–she’s the CEO and founder. You could send another email at their website. BTW, did not receive the photo–did you attach it?

      Best regards,
      Melissa

    2. Pam

I thought Thieves oil was a Young Living product, not Edens Garden. Am I correct? If so, how would someone order it from an competitor? Maybe I just don’t understand the issue in this post. Please explain.

      1. Kate

        Hi Pam
Yes, Young Living’s product is called Thieves oil. However, they do not own the formula just the name. Most all essential oil companies have a “thieves oil” for purchase under a different name. YL trademarked that name is all. Each company has their version with same recipe but not all oils are created equal.
I love Germbuster by Hopewell essential oils the best “thieves” oil to be found!
The issue here is she ordered their version four thieves and was allegedly sent wrong oil. That’s my take anyway

    3. Sucorra

I have had some ordering issues – myself – which were my own fault. However they have been nothing but excellent to me. Their response time was short and customer service exceptional. Which is one reason I have purchased over 80 oils from them in less than 2 months. I am an “experience” shopper. I enjoy the EG experience. Sorry you had a bad one – I would suggest given them another try.

  13. Elana

I hear a lot of claims with zero evidence to back them up. I was looking for some more indepth information to understand some of the differences between companies. This seems to read directly from Eden’s Garden website with no independent research, investigation or evidence. I’m glad you’re happy with Eden’s garden and I’m sure it’s a great company. Just recognize that your review is your own personal representation and does not have supporting evidence to your claims.

  14. Lisa Douchette

Hi, Can these oils be taken in a few drops in a capsule? Are they safe?

    1. bounce

It’s funny how they are avoiding that question on every account of being taken internally !!!

      1. Phoebe

        From Edens Garden’s website @ edensgarden.com:

“Can Edens Garden essential oils be used internally?

We get this question quite often. Because many people use essential oils for self-medication and we are not licensed aromatherapists, we cannot recommend internal use. We do not know what medications, quantities and allergies you may have and want to be certain our customers are safe.

Our oils are labeled “for external use” for our own liability. It is very common practice in the US and many other companies that sell therapeutic grade oils to use “for external use” on labeling. Essential oils are highly concentrated and have the capacity to cause serious damage if used internally without the necessary expertise required in administering it.

Supported by the International Federation of Aromatherapists, we do not recommend ingestion of essential oils unless under the supervision of a Medical Doctor who is also qualified in clinical aromatherapy.

That being said, many of our loyal customers use Edens Garden oils internally since they are the highest quality available, but we leave that entirely up to each customer.”

I place a first time Large order (last week) with Eden’s Garden. After reading some of the messages here….I am hoping i don’t have any problems with my order. No mess ups and no broken bottles Please. It arrives this wed. Now I’m a bit nerves. Thank you for this article, It is very informative.

  16. Miche

I love Eden Garden oils. I’ve used YL oils as well. Like them both. One is just less expensive and no membership!!

  17. Liz

I have placed many orders and spent quite a bit of money on Eden’s Garden essential oils and have never been anything other than extremely satisfied with my purchases. I never had anything arrive broken like some of the other people on here have, and the shipping is usually pretty quick. I love that they are considered one of the “good” brands but still fit into my “poor college student” budget. I really like the custom sets they offer. I usually order a set of 6 and then 2-3 other oils that are a little bit pricier and are not available in a set. A set of 6 is only $24 by the way… Which is awesome!

  18. Stephanie Spataro

I love essential oils…..I have use Doterra, young living, and edens garden. They all have great oils and smell awsome. Whathe is not posted on any comments that EDENS GARDEN takes 10% of sales and contributes to charity…….AMAZING! They do not require a membership to purchase, you don’t have to sell them you can just make purchases any day or time…..And they provide FREE shipping in the US. Oh and great customer service. They are 100% pure and I love them. Fast shipping and just wow. One issue I had as in any company one of my plain roll on bottles came and after a few uses the silver ball fell out. I emailed them great customer service. I provided a picture they sent me new bottles no question. So far so good. Love them. Thank you Edens Garden for making me, my daughter, my husband and my mother In law and niece such very happy customers. One suggestion I have we should have a perk system or rewards for purchases made. Keep all customers satisfied 😉

  19. Shines57

I am new to EG and must say I find them comparable to YL I am new to EOs and have to say I am impressed by both companies, due to the high cost and no free shipping of YL I think EG is going to become my new best friend. I am starting to build my EO stock and due to the results I received from YL deep relief having been in pain for over a year without much help with narcotic pain meds I am a true believer in EOs. As a nurse I believe this is one of the seven wonders of the world? and I can’t say enough I will continue using YL deep relief but due to price will have to use EG oils for the rest of my EOs once my supply runs out. I know this was a long post but if you have never been in pain for a whole year you can never understand my amazement!

  20. sandy dunn

I have used several brands of eo. When I received Eden’s garden oil set, I could smell them thru the box. I used the synergy blend and really loved it. Will be purchasing more oil from Eden’s garden.

  21. Susie

I’m excited to try Eden’s Garden given all the glowing reviews I’ve seen, but I’m confused as to why your review states that they are certified organic. According to their website, they do make every effort to buy from farmers who don’t use pesticides, herbicides, gmos, etc., but I don’t see any indication that they are USDA Certified Organic. I wish they were, but doubt they’d be offered at such a great price if they were.

  22. Melissa Lawrence

I use the thieves blend from Edens Garden. I was recently informed that Eucalyptus is harmful for young children. Both YL and do Terra use Eucalyptus Radiata, which is supposed to be safe. Does Edens Garden use Eucalyptus or Eucalyptus Radiata? Thanks for the info!
